Fly fishing in mountain lakes

Description

The Pyrénées-orientales is home to a multitude of mountain lakes beyond the 1000m altitude which is full of trout. Fishing conditions are closed to river fishing.

Contrary to received ideas it is not necessary to lengthen twenty meters of silk to make beautiful fish. On the contrary it is a fishing on the borders. Among them I chose some of the fishing spots because they are easy of access and with interesting population of beautiful wild trout. For expert fishermen, I can make them discover more isolated and very little frequented ereas.

Guide de pêche diplômé d'état, hydrobiologiste (étude des écosystèmes aquatiques), botaniste et naturaliste de formation, je vous transmettrai mon expérience et mes connaissances des milieux autour de mes parcours préférés.
Originaire de l'Auvergne j'ai arpenté nombre de rivières de France et de l'étranger et j'ai fini par m'installer dans le magnifique département des Pyrénées-orientales pour la diversité de ses paysages et son côté sauvage.
Pour les débutants comme pour les plus confirmés je mettrai tout en oeuvre pour partager les sensations qui me font vibrer depuis tant d'années.

The program in details

I suggest you come and discover the beautiful lakes of the Pyrenees-Orientales where I will strive to meet all your expectations. You will measure yourself with the beautiful wild trouts of Mediterranean strain.

We will cover all aspects of fly fishing:

Backgrounds:

- Observation and understanding of the ecosystem

- Recognition of insects and plants

- Reading water, holding fish

- Biology of trout

- Adaptations to climatic and environmental conditions

The technique:

- Knowledge of the fishing material

- Cast: right, backhand, rolled ...

- Fly selection

- Bottom line to node

- The different flies: dry, drowned, nymph, streamer

Fishing is practiced in no kill (all the caught fish are released and the hooks are barbless). French rivers in general are subject to numerous attacks due to human activities (pollution, urbanization ...) and wild trout populations are declining. We are still lucky to have beautiful wild rivers where trout reproduce naturally. It is our duty to preserve them and therefore to gently put these beautiful fish in their natural environment.
