Tenkara fishing in Hautes-Pyrenes

Practiced since ages in Japan, tenkara fishing is ideal for a first approach of fly fishing. Sweetness, simplicity and sensation are the "zen" ingredients of this technique. Easy access, no reel, the casting technique on tenkara fishing is quickly accessible for the novice fisherman.

I propose you the initiation of tenkara fishing on Pyrenean rivers of mountain selected for their frame: Gave of mercadau and Gave de Luz in the Pyrenees National Park, on Neste and Adour.

About your guide

Christophe

As a trout fishing guide, I offer initiations and perfecting of trout fly fishing. Specialist in linear casting, I do everything to guarantee your progress in dry, nymph and streamer.
My playgrounds are the Pyrenees rivers: Neste, Arros, Adour and Gave. Partner of the Marryat brand, I provide you with rods, flies and all my tips and tricks. Two key words: sharing and conviviality will punctuate our fishing day.
Through this fishing guide job, I want to share my techniques and my experience in order to make you have a good time fishing with me.

The program in details

The appointment is made together on the fishing spot at 9AM. It is confirmed once the information taken on the water conditions and weather.

The morning is dedicated to the discovery of the environment (reading of a river, underwater life) and trout (behavior, diet). Then we approach the technique with presentation of the material: rod and its specific action, the making of the bottom line and finally the cast.

The afternoon takes place in the water by applying the information given in the morning. Observation, positioning and cast
